Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a clinical disorder that involves the development and presentation of negative symptoms after exposure to a traumatic event. Clinical PTSD does not present identically across people, but symptoms are generally fear-based, emotional, behavioral, mood-based, or reactive to arousal.
